Pigs can fly!!!
You’ve heard of the saying ” that will happen when pigs fly”! Well one must have been flying somewhere because Blane Steckline had a new 4-h project at the Sedgwick County Fair this week, Showing Pigs !!! Thanks to sister Tess, Blane purchased two pigs from Silverline Genetics and had a 4th place and 6th place finish in there classes at the Fair. Not bad for his first year, problem is, he really enjoyed showing pigs and wants pigs for next year. I love to eat pork, not to hot on raising pigs, so Tess is planning on helping him with that project again next year…
Grand Champion Steer, Sedgwick County Fair 2011
It was another great year for Blane Steckline as his steer was chosen Grand Champion at this year’s Sedgwick County Fair in Cheney, July 6 – 9 , 2011. Blane’s Steer was a Cross Bred Steer weighing in at #1340 pounds, purchased from Deitz Olson Club Calves in Russell, Ks. Blane also showed a Black Limousin Steer from Silverline Genetics, Burton, Ks. that will be shown at the upcoming Kansas State Fair in September…. Sister Tess, even though is out of 4-h, still helps Blane with his projects, including a new project never attempted by a Steckline.
